P-ONE produces furniture, shelving, stands and complements for furniture in recycled cardboard
The idea of using a recycle material for the accomplishment of demonstration furniture is born from the factory (the Benetton Group), but it is thanks to the meeting with P-One that "The Idea" begins to transform itself into a project that will use almost only recycled paper and the cardboard as a substitute for traditional materials like wood, mdf and chipboard. The development of the module furniture grew in the technical office of the factory in collaboration with the technical office of P-One that created a series of prototypes to verify the static feasibility of the project.
The series of counters that you see at the entrance, 11 in total, were created entirely in 16mm thick reboard with an expert combination of panels, in a light brown colour, for the supporting structure and an elegant black panel to enhance the coverings and the terminal flanks. These last items give strength to the counter and they are created from 8 layers of reboard glued between them. All of the edges are left open to enable you to see the nature of the material. The counter further was embellished with the insertion of a 16cm black glass covering the length of the plan.
The counters are created always in reboard, even the entire closing of system of chests.
A passing visitor will not be able to avoid noticing these libraries to the sides of the central hall, the two libraries are created in reboard. It is an intervention on the present day libraries that are currently made out of wood by means of covering the backs of the ledges with reboard glued to form a continuous solution for the entire length of the library. The final effect is astonishing, in full harmony with the opposite counter.
In a shop they make an attractive demonstration of two benches and two bookstores that are made from reboard. These counters have a measurement of 80x200xh100cm and are composed from 125 slabs of reboard in a light brown finish that are glued between them. The central slabs are formed in an "E" in a manner to create four vains of support. The final result is that of a "block" of excavated reboard that certainly cannot pass unobserved. The superior case is made in transparent plex. In the same room besides the two counters are two bookstores that are positioned in the window and are also made in reboard and have the dimensions of 130x230x35cm(bxhxp). To be made properly it was necessary to use 22 sheets of reboard for each bookstore carved and glued between them. The structure of the bookstores were "drowned" in led lights to illuminate the products.
The case containing the two imperial crowns has dimensions of 100x100x200cm and is made completely of 100% recycled cardboard. To be made properly it was necessary to glue 240 sheets of cardboard between them to form a monobloc on which was set the stratified glass case of 8mm.
The case is entirely illuminated by means of 10 led lights.
The stands for "baby games" that have dimensions of 70x60xh100cm and are composed of 3 elements in reboard that can rotate and pivot around in a plexiglass that creates a bright effect that is produced from a led light that is placed inside of the base and directed towards the surface.
On the ground floor (and continuing to the higher floors) in the hallway there are 4 Expo Panels made from 4 sheets of 100% recycled cardboard. From these 4 panels “windows” were also cut out to allow for example materials to be displayed.
The shape of the lights are made from a series of cut out plains of reboard that are cut into a doughnut shape that are put inside a metal structure and mixed between them are rings of transparent plexiglass. The light is produced from three neon lights that are wisely hidden inside the body of the light.
